The perception that political influence can be 'bought' is extremely damaging to the public's faith in our democratic system and has undermined the integrity of our representative government.

Electoral funding loopholes need to be closed and the most stringent disclosure requirements imposed.

We believe the Commonwealth and all State governments must fundamentally reform their financial donations legislation to ensure maximum transparency and probity. We are support a call for a National Summit to develop a national strategy to fundamentally reform Australia's financial donations legislation for both the federal and state systems to ensure maximum transparency and probity."
